Barron's profile: Terres d'Afrique

I recently interviewed Dr. Stephan Helary, a veterinarian and botanist who was born and raised in Madagascar, growing up with a respect for the natural world. His career would take him to a PhD in nutritional ecology, focusing on work with the endangered black rhinoceros in eastern and southern Africa.

What came next was slightly unlikely but makes sense given his lifelong passions -- Terres d'Afrique, an organic skincare line with products all made from African botanicals.

I spoke with Helary about his company and its commitment to sustainable production and collaboration with the farmers and communities in the Muswodi Dipeni Village in Limpopo, the Ka-ben Village in Swaziland, and the Kunene Region villages of Namibia where these plants have long been used as natural resources.
