My Barron's profile of Buck Mason

Los Angeles-based menswear label Buck Mason’s co-founders Erik Allen Ford and Sasha Koehn create clothes inspired by the casual cool of style icons like Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, and John F. Kennedy.

Now, as the Covid-19 pandemic sweeps the world, upending daily life as we know it, Buck Mason has committed to helping those on the frontlines of the health crisis.

They recently launched “Masks for America,” manufacturing protective face masks. This is a one-for-one initiative, meaning that for every non-medical grade mask sold, the company will donate a free mask to medical and essential personnel.

Koehn says their initial goal was to donate 100,000 masks to essential workers in the United States. Within 48 hours of announcing the initiative on March 28, they reached that goal. They hit 200,000 just a day later. Now, their goal is to donate 1 million masks to the essential medical and non-medical workers who need them most.
